Details:

The tour is a guided walk around the grounds of the former Sachsenhausen Concentration Camp Memorial. Our tour follows the educational approach of the memorial site.
You will learn how the Nazi concentration camp system became one of the regime's most important instruments of terror, persecution and oppression.

Through personal stories of both victims and perpetrators, we explore the camp's history from its establishment in 1936 until its liberation in 1945, as well as its later use by the Soviet authorities.

Sites visited include Tower A, the former prisoner barracks, the roll-call square, the camp kitchen, the prison, the infirmary barracks, Station Z with its execution trench and the remains of other killing facilities, as well as the former crematoria.

Tip: We are great fans of afternoon tours. The memorial site is generally much quieter than during the morning, allowing for a more reflective visit.

Getting there:

We can meet you at your hotel in central Berlin or at Friedrichstraße Station.
From there, we travel by regional train to Oranienburg (approximately 45 minutes), followed by a 20-minute walk to the memorial site.

All required public transport tickets are included in the tour price.

Our Tours:

Our guides are fully licensed and accredited to lead tours at the Sachsenhausen Memorial. Both small and large groups are registered with the memorial on arrival, and, as part of our cooperation with the site, we contribute a fixed amount per visitor towards its educational work and upkeep. This contribution is, of course, included in the tour price.
