Explore Berlin’s Museum Island on a three-hour private guided tour.
The tour concludes with an introduction to the Neues Museum – with time to explore the collections independently afterward.
Details:
The tour starts at the Bode Museum, an architectural gem at the northern tip of the island. You will receive a concise introduction to the museum’s history, architecture, and the development of Museum Island as a visionary 19th-century museum ensemble.
A brief stop at the Pergamon Museum and Pergamon Panorama provides a clear overview of the world-famous Pergamon collections, which are currently under renovation.
During the tour, you will see the Humboldt Forum, the Berlin Cathedral, and the Lustgarten, explore the Altes Zeughaus – now home of the German Historical Museum – and visit the Friedrichswerdersche Church with its sculpture collection from the Alte Nationalgalerie. This gives you a comprehensive view of the architecture, history, and cultural significance of the island.
The highlight is the visit to the Neues Museum, reopened in 2009 after restoration by David Chipperfield. During the approximately 45-minute introduction, you will see highlights such as the world-famous Bust of Nefertiti and selected objects from the ancient Egyptian, prehistoric, and classical collections. Afterwards, you can explore the museum at your own pace.
Throughout the tour, you will learn how Museum Island developed from its 19th-century beginnings, through destruction in World War II, to the cultural ensemble it is today.
The day ticket for all Museum Island museums is included in the price.
This private half-day tour offers a well-rounded overview of Museum Island and the Neues Museum. It is exclusively bookable for your group and can be customized to your wishes – for example, with a guided visit to another museum of your choice.
